Donald F. Reaser, Professor Emeritus, Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 1974. Research Interests include study of: 1) environmental problems in the north Texas area with special emphasis on the formation of earthflows and the detrimental effects of expansive soils; 2) the characteristics and origin of Balcones faults in northeast Texas; and 3) selected chert replacement of Permian Alibates Dolomite in the northern Panhandle of Texas. During the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, he was closely associated with geologic investigations related to placement of the proposed Superconducting Super Collider in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Reaser has a keen interest in the history of geology - especially the early geologic work conducted on the Texas Cretaceous stratigraphic section. In 1997, he published an article on the work of Robert T. Hill (the "Father of Texas Geology") in the Journal of Geoscience Education.
