New Insights in Environmental Changes Leading to End-Permian Mass Extinction Posted on October 07, 2011 UTA Scientists Dr. Cornelia Winguth and Dr. Arne Winguth simulated Permian-Triassic oceanic anoxia distribution with NCAR's climate model CCSM. The findings of their study support conclusions from recent geochemical studies that the deep Panthalassa was not anoxic. The research will appear in the February issue of the journal "Geology".
