WASIU AND ABOLFAZL AT THE ACS-IDSS

Wasiu Adedapo Lawal, an Earth and Environmental Sciences Ph.D. student and Civil Engineering Master's student Abolfazl Zakersalehi both under the guidance of Civil Engineering professor Dr. Hyeok Choi have been selected to attend the American Chemical Society International-Domestic Student Summit (ACS-IDSS) 2012 in Raleigh NC November 11-17. The summit is designed to create a more cohesive link and foster better collaborations between domestic and international students.

Abolfazl and Wasiu were nominated by the Dallas-Fort Worth local section of the ACS and are one of 10 teams that were selected as part of a competitive, nationwide nominations process. Other awardees are groups from well-known institutions such as Colorado School of Mines, Dartmouth, Illinois, Iowa State and Kansas State. The award includes an all-expense paid trip to Raleigh where they would also present their research at the 2012 ACS Southeast Regional Meeting which runs concurrently with the summit.
