It is the policy of The University of Texas at Arlington to provide the healthiest and safest possible environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EH&S) staff has the responsibility for establishing and pursuing effective environmental and occupational safety programs for the University and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. A portion of that responsibility is to identify safety and environmental deficiencies and problems and bring them to the attention of supervisors responsible for corrective action.

Each member of our academic community is urged to accept the challenge of maintaining a healthy and accident-free environment. Department heads, directors, managers and supervisors are responsible for safety and environmental compliance in their respective areas. Each employee is expected to fully support our safety program, follow proper procedures, and insure that equipment and facilities are maintained to desired standards.

The Environmental Health & Safety Office (EH&S) provides The University of Texas at Arlington campus community with services and information in order to promote the health and safety of the students, faculty, staff & visitors. EH&S provides information on a wide variety of topics, including: Management of Hazardous Chemicals, Radiation/X-ray/Laser Safety, Indoor Air Quality, Defensive Driver Training, Fire Prevention, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, Safety Training, Recycling, Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS), and Workers' Compensation Insurance.
