We understand there are many questions surrounding the university’s implementation of the campus carry law. Media coverage of this issue and the different policies other universities have implemented has contributed to these questions. Please note that UTA’s Campus Carry Policy is unique to our campus, as is each university’s policy. What is established at one university may not be allowed at a different university under its policy.

Most of the requests for information we’ve received are answered on the UTA campus carry web pages at uta.edu/campuscarry. If you cannot find the information you are seeking there, please contact us through the online comment form, and we will respond as soon as possible.

Today, we’d like to familiarize you with the various locations on campus that are identified by UTA as exclusionary areas, or places where concealed handguns may not be carried. Please consult the map, which is posted on the campus carry site, to locate these areas.
