Office of the President, UTA

July 15, 2020

Dear UTA Faculty, Staff and Students,

Yesterday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced reversal of their July 6 directive related to online courses permitted for international students through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

We are committed to supporting our international students and will continue to do everything we can to provide a supportive and fair learning environment. We are closely monitoring the policies from ICE and DHS to determine how they will affect our international students.

We remain in close contact with all our international students to ensure they have the information they need to make decisions about their class modality and visa status. Students with questions or concerns should reach out to the Office of International Education for assistance.

Sincerely,

Teik C. Lim, Ph.D.
President ad interim
