Office of the Provost - The University of Texas at Arlington

November 25, 2020

Dear Students,

As we transition to online learning for the remainder of the Fall 2020 semester, I want to thank you for your commitment to and continued engagement with coursework, research, and virtual campus activities—your generous and resilient Maverick spirit is truly inspiring!

We understand the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has created numerous personal challenges and a semester like none other for students. Because of the resulting hardships experienced by many students, UTA will implement a temporary Pass/Fail Policy for a limited number of courses in the Fall 2020 semester.

Implementation plans will be developed over the coming days. More information, including a list of courses eligible for pass/fail, will be shared with students via email and posted online the week of December 7. Questions about this temporary policy can be submitted here.

I wish you a healthy and happy Thanksgiving break.

Sincerely,

Pranesh Aswath, Ph.D.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs ad interim
