Starfish Secrets

A study led by UT Arlington graduate student Lauren Fuess examining sea stars dying along the West Coast provides new clues about the starfish’s immune response and its ability to protect a diverse coastal ecosystem. When the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation of North Texas asked Arlington teen Tane Johnson to dream big, he wished for help to further his education. UT Arlington alumni and undergraduate recruitment representatives were on hand this week as the chronically ill teenager learned that Make‑A‑Wish will fund his first year of college. Johnson’s dream is to study computer engineering at UT Arlington.
