Development Leadership

UTA is pleased to announce the appointment of Kris Muñoz Vetter as associate vice president for development. Vetter will work closely with Michael Kingan, vice president for development and alumni relations, to guide the University’s philanthropic program as UTA becomes the model 21st century urban research university. Vetter previously was executive director for principal gifts at Southern Methodist University where she helped secure a $45 million gift from the Meadows Foundation, the largest single contribution in the university’s history. She also served in development roles at UT Austin.

Fighting Cancer

When UTA alumna Chris Rudiger learned she had breast cancer earlier this year, she responded with the same competitive spirit she exhibited in as a member of the 1989 Lady Mavs volleyball team that fought its way to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Final Four. Rudiger, now a teacher and coach at Brewer High School in Fort Worth, was honored at UTA’s recent Dig Pink Match presented by Ben Hogan Sports Medicine during a breast cancer awareness event with the Side‑Out Foundation.
