Dear UTA alumni,

As we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday this week, The University of Texas at Arlington community has much to be grateful for. This year, UTA and the Maverick family have reached major milestones on our path towards becoming a model 21st Century Urban Research University. Thanks to the vision and commitment of UTA alumni, students, faculty, staff, and supporters, the University expects to serve more than 55,000 degree-seeking students this year through on‑line and on‑campus programs.

UTA awarded 10,564 degrees this year at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels — which makes us the third-largest generator of highly skilled capital in the state. The University also serves more than 30,000 non‑degree-seeking students each year through our professional and continuing education programs that are part of our commitment to addressing the workforce needs of North Texas.

As the highest profile Hispanic-serving institution in North Texas, UTA continues to attract a diverse range of students and is ranked fifth in the nation for undergraduate diversity according to U.S. News & World Report. Our commitment to serve our nation’s military veterans and their families is stronger than ever and Military Times recently ranked UTA as the single best four-year college in Texas for veterans.

None of this would be possible without our supportive alumni who continue to proudly represent the University around the globe. May your Thanksgiving be filled with joyful celebration. From your UTA family, a sincere thank you and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season. Please share your accomplishments with us. Go Mavs!
