Access, Success, Texas!

On Tuesday, April 5, leaders from across the state will converge on UTA's campus to discuss how universities can provide better access to higher education and help students successfully complete college at the first-ever 60x30TX North Texas Regional Conference. UTA is a leader in this discussion in large part because of programs like University Crossroads and the foresight of Michele Bobadilla, senior associate vice president for Outreach and Community Engagement. Watch as Michele explains the success of University Crossroads through the story of Giselly Cobas-Rincon, a Cuban-born UTA alumna.

Alumni Spotlight

Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed UTA alumna Courtney Sherman, a Fort Worth nurse practitioner, to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council (SHCC). The purpose of the SHCC is to make recommendations to the governor and legislature to ensure health care services and facilities are available to all Texans. Courtney graduated from UTA with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Her apppointment is evidence of how the University's ongoing strategic plan to emphasize education that promotes health and the human condition is producing graduates that make a difference. Congratulations, Courtney!
