UTA Athletes at Rio Paralympic Games

Global Impact

Three UTA student-athletes will play for Team USA at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games on September 7. They are Abbie Dunkin and Rose Hollerman (WCBB) and Tobi Fawehinmi (T&F). Six UTA alumni will also compete in the games: Aaron Gouge and Mike Paye (WCBB), Dr. Darlene Hunter (Women's WCBB), Jon Rydberg (WC Tennis), David Eng (WCBB, Canada), and Brent Lakatos (Track, Canada). UTA alum Paul Schultz is participating as a commentator for NBC's coverage of wheelchair basketball. WATCH THE GAMES

Mindy Carmichael

"Helping the Place I Call Home"

Mindy Carmichael, 1990 Civil Engineering alumna, became the first woman named Public Works and Transportation Director for the city of Arlington. But she will tell you her greatest achievement is contributing to the city. "It isn’t just a career," Carmichael says. "I’m helping the place I call home." READ MORE

Prestigious Appointment

Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Vince Puente to the Finance Commission of Texas, the governing body of the state banking, savings and loan, and consumer credit agencies. READ MORE
