Game Changing Partnership
a game changing Partnership

The American Society of Civil Engineers has singled out for recognition UTA's use of multi-sensor robots to examine Arlington sewer lines as one of 15 Infrastructure Game Changers in maintaining resilient and sustainable city piping. The robots were developed by UTA Civil Engineers, and the project marks an ongoing partnership between UTA and the City of Arlington. WATCH THE VIDEO

Ground Water Quality

Kevin Schug, Shimadzu Distinguished Professor of Analytical Chemistry, and a team of chemists from UTA have partnered with Apache Corporation to conduct a baseline water quality study of groundwater and surface water in the newly discovered Alpine High resource play in West Texas. In September of 2016, Apache announced that it has discovered approximately 15 billion barrels of oil equivalent in southern Reeves County, Texas. The Alpine High resource play lies in the southern corner of the Delaware Basin within the prolific Permian Basin. 2016 UTA Bed Races

Alumni and students gathered Wednesday night to take part in one of the most beloved UTA traditions. Teams of students and alumni dressed in creative costumes competed in the annual Bed Races by pushing beds on wheels. The event originated in 1980 to celebreate the opening of Maverick Stadium and has been a staple of campus life ever since. The Shorthorn was there to capture all the action. WATCH THE VIDEO

Terry Scholars Reception

One of the largest providers of private scholarships in Texas, the Terry Foundation, expanded its well-known and respected program to UTA last year. The second year's class is proving to be as inspirational and outstanding as the first. Hear how the foundation's support is making a phenomenal difference in the lives of these exceptional students, who gathered to meet foundation representatives recently at a special banquet honoring the foundation's commitment to UTA.

UTA Day at FC Dallas

Join fellow Mavericks for an afternoon of soccer as the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Champion FC Dallas hosts the Seattle Sounders Football Club on UTA Day at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Alumni can also attend a 2 pm pre-game social at Mattito's. All UTA fans purchasing a ticket can participate in a pre-game experience on the field to watch the teams warmup, form a tunnel for the players to enter the field, and stay on the field during the national anthem. Students purchasing a ticket also have the option of riding a chartered bus to the match from UTA's campus in Arlington.
