SEIR Groundbreaking

Texas elected officials and numerous university supporters and faculty joined President Karbhari to break ground Thursday, Oct. 27 on UTA's new $125 million Science and Engineering Innovation and Research building which will be the signature facility for life and health science research and teaching at UTA. "This is another milestone in our journey to becoming the best university in Texas," Karbhari said. WATCH THE VIDEO

UTA Basketball Gaining national Recognition

Momentum is building for the 2016-17 men’s and women’s basketball teams. Led by Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year Kevin Hervey, the Maverick men have established themselves as a mid-major powerhouse and look to improve upon last season’s program-best 24 wins. For the Lady Mavericks, junior center Rebekah VanDijk has been tabbed as the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year. Parents and Family Weekend

Family members of UTA students received a first hand look at what it means to be a Maverick this past weekend during Parent and Family Weekend. The three day event highlighted many of the campus programs and activities that make student life unique at UTA. From glass blowing to a performance by a student mariachi band, the weekend allowed students to share a little bit of their home-away-from-home with their families. WATCH THE VIDEO

Jamar Jones

Jamar Jones, a jazz pianist, graduate student, and lecturer of music industry studies, always dreamed of performing at the White House. Last Friday, Jones' talent and dedication to his craft paid off when he played in President Obama's final concert.

Candice Huckeba

UTA Graduate Candice Huckeba, a nationally-known host on Radio Disney and The Disney Channel, came back to campus to share life and career advice. Candice got her start at UTA Radio and was the keynote speaker for COMM Day 2016, which gave students majoring in communication a chance to network with professionals.

Recognizing UTA's very best, the Distinguished Alumni Awards honor graduates who have achieved significant professional success or have contributed invaluable service to our community. Honorees were announced last week, and tickets are now available to the DAA event.

SLAR Homecoming Reception | Mix and mingle with current student leaders and catch up with fellow alumni, faculty, and staff from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the new state-of-the art Follett Student Leaders Center located in the E.H. Hereford University Center. BUY TICKETS

November 12 | Saturday

Greek Homecoming Reception | Gather from 4 to 7 pm with fraternity and sorority alumni, UTA faculty and staff members, and friends in a pre-game celebration take all of the street festival activities and Homecoming parade from the College Park Center Northwest deck prior to cheering on the Mavericks at the Homecoming game vs Texas Southern. November 12 | Saturday

2016 Homecoming Game Package | Join the Maverick faithful as they cheer on the men's basketball team to victory against Texas Southern in this year's Homecoming game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm. Game packages, which include your ticket in the alumni reserved section, a t-shirt, UTA alumni goody bag, and free popcorn, are available. BUY TICKETS
