Best for Vets

For the second consecutive year, The University of Texas at Arlington is the No. 1 school in the state for military veterans and their families to earn a college education, according to the Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges 2017 ranking of national universities. Nationally, UTA ranked No. 20 of the public and private institutions considered and was the lone Texas school ranked in the top 20. READ MORE

Renaissance of UTA

A Star-Telegram editorial saluted UTA for transforming into a  "research powerhouse.” UTA President Vistasp Karbhari told the editorial board that the school creates a workforce with more intelligent capabilities and also gives opportunities for nontraditional students to receive the same excellent education as if they were full-time. UTA Cross Country Win

The men's and women's cross country teams had a strong showing at the Sun Belt Conference Championships. The men defended their 2015 conference title with a repeat win in this year's race, making it the fourth time in five years they have been crowned conference champions. The women took fifth as a team with junior Tori Shelton placing sixth individually. Both teams will compete at the NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on November 11. READ MORE

Minerva Cordero-Epperson

Minerva Cordero-Epperson, a UTA Professor of Mathematics and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Science, has been named one of the Ford Motor Company's Mujeres Legendarias for 2016. Ford honored her for excellence in teaching and a decades-long commitment to increasing diversity in STEM programs.

Movin' Mavs New Season

Both the men's and women's Movin' Mavs wheelchair basketball teams start their quest for a national championship this Friday at the Maverick Activities Center in the Jim Hayes Memorial Tournament. The tournament will run through the weekend.

Recognizing UTA's very best, the Distinguished Alumni Awards honor graduates who have achieved significant professional success or have contributed invaluable service to our community. Honorees were announced last month, and tickets are now available to the DAA event.

SLAR Homecoming Reception | Mix and mingle with current student leaders and catch up with fellow alumni, faculty, and staff from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the new state-of-the-art Follett Student Leaders Center located in the E.H. Hereford University Center during the Student Leader Alumni Reception. BUY TICKETS

November 12 | Saturday

Greek Homecoming Reception | Gather from 4 to 7 pm with fraternity and sorority alumni, UTA faculty and staff members, and friends for a pre-game celebration while watching the Homecoming parade from the College Park Center Northwest deck prior to the Mavericks taking on Texas Southern.

November 12 | Saturday

Men's Basketball Homecoming | Join the Maverick faithful as they root for the men's basketball team against Texas Southern. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm. Game packages, which include your ticket in the alumni reserved section, a t-shirt, UTA alumni goody bag, and free popcorn, are available. BUY TICKETS

November 13 | Sunday

Women's Basketball Homecoming | Homecoming continues on Sunday when the women's basketball team, led by Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year Rebekah VanDijk, competes against the Roadrunners of UT San Antonio. Get your tickets and make some noise as we cheer the Lady Mavericks to victory. BUY TICKETS
