MSS Special Edition Stephen Breyer

Join us on Tuesday, December 13, for a special edition of the Maverick Speakers Series as U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen Breyer discusses his recent book The Court and the World: American Law and the New Global Realities. The night will include a moderated question-and-answer forum. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions before December 9 by email or via social media using #maverickspeakers. TICKETS and VIP PASSES that include a dinner with Justice Breyer prior to the lecture are available now.

Mars Basketball Makes History
Mavs Basketball Makes history

The UTA men's and women's basketball teams continue to make national headlines with impressive wins. Led by Kevin Hervey's 11th career double-double, the men won for the first time in program history over UT Austin on Tuesday night. The Lady Mavs earned their first ever vote in the USA Today Coaches' Poll and are ranked nationally, building on the mid-major poll success of recent weeks. Science on Display

"It's an empty parking lot now," writes Dallas Morning News writer Loyd Brumfield. "But sometime in 2018, that vacant lot will become the site of one of the leading science and engineering research centers in the country, University of Texas at Arlington officials say." Brumfield describes how the innovative design, with glass walls opening labs to public view, will facilitate collaborative working environments where science will be "on display", encouraging undergraduates and high schoolers to pursue discovery and progress. The building will bring together UTA's research strengths in engineering, nursing, and science to advance instruction and knowledge in the strategic area of Health and the Human Condition. READ MORE

UTA Day at the Rodeo

Dust off your boots and grab your cowboy hat for UTA Day at the Rodeo on Sunday, January 22. Prior to attending the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, alumni and friends will gather at noon in the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for lunch and to hear the latest UTA updates. Your $25 ticket includes entry into the rodeo.

National Night Out Award

UTA has been honored for its 2016 National Night Out event, aimed at building partnerships between the community and law enforcement. This is the fifth consecutive award UTA has received for the event.

Men's BB vs. UNT | The men's basketball team is heading into a rivalry match with the University of North Texas with momentum from an impressive win against UT Austin. Travel up the road to catch a 2:00 pm tip-off at the Super Pit in Denton. Be there and be loud as we show the world what UTA basketball is all about.

Women's BB vs. SFA | Welcome our nationally ranked Lady Mavs back to College Park Center after their successful east coast road trip as they look to continue their winning streak against Stephen F. Austin at 2:00 pm. Let's make sure we give home court advantage to our Lady Mavs.

January 22 | Sunday

UTA Day at the Rodeo | Head to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with all of your favorite Mavericks. Mark your calendars for this year's alumni event on January 22 from noon to 1:30 pm. Immediately following lunch, the group will walk to Will Rogers Coliseum to catch all the rodeo action. Your $25 ticket includes lunch, a rodeo ticket, and Maverick giveaways.

February 16 | Thursday

MSS: Kevin O'Leary | The popular business entrepreneur and TV personality Kevin O'Leary is coming to campus as the first Maverick Speakers Series event in 2017. O'Leary will present Swimming with a Shark - An Evening with Kevin O'Leary at College Park Center. Audience Q&A and book-signing will follow the lecture. GET YOUR TICKETS
