For the sixth time in program history the UTA men's basketball team reached the 20-win plateau over the weekend and added a key victory at Georgia Southern on Monday night that keeps them in sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference. Winning nine of its last 10 games, the Mavs are preparing for a deep run in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament and eyeing a birth in the NCAA Tournament. Unprecedented Growth
Unprecedented Growth

UTA set a new student body record in Spring 2017 for the fourth consecutive year, with 41,932 Texas-based students registered for the spring semester as reported to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Spring enrollment increased by 5.6 percent over the fall semester and by 8.5 percent over spring of 2016. Global enrollment, including the university's online students, is at 54,976 and is anticipated to reach 57,000 by the end of the academic year. READ MORE

UTA, Grand Praire to hundreds of Teachers
UTA, Grand Prairie to add hundreds of teachers to local classrooms

UTA and the Grand Prairie Independent School District are partnering to offer high school students who aspire to teach a streamlined path to a four-year degree in education along with a teaching certificate, which not only cuts down on the time and cost needed to obtain a college degree, but also addresses a chronic shortage of bilingual and English as a Second Language, or ESL, teachers in local classrooms. UTA and GPISD announced the formation of the Education & Leadership Preparatory Program, focused on recruiting and enhancing a teaching workforce that will serve the community. READ MORE.

New Degree Meets Growing Workforce Demands

UTA now offers a new bachelor's degree in construction management to help meet increasing workforce demands in the bustling, construction-laden North Texas area. The degree is the only one of its kind in North Texas and has been approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Promoting Scientific Discovery

The 66th Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair, the longest-running science and engineering fair in the state, took place Feb. 19-20 at College Park Center and brought together more than 500 students from schools all over North Texas to compete for the opportunity to advance to state and national science and engineering competitions. Jazz Brunch | Time to hit the right note at the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival for the annual UTA Jazz Brunch. Details for the brunch including time and how to get your tickets are forthcoming but the festival's entertainment schedule, festival guide, and artist's gallery are live on their website.
