Renowned Researcher and Scholar named Provost, VP for Academic Affairs
Lim Appointed UTA Provost, VP for Academic Affairs

President Vistasp Karbhari announced this week the appointment of Dr. Teik C. Lim as the University's next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Since 2012, Dr. Lim has served as the 19th Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati, overseeing significant growth in enrollment, reputation, faculty size, corporate partnerships, research funding, and endowments. Dr. Lim's appointment takes effect June 30, 2017. READ MORE

UTA Receives Prestigious Grant to train Top Doctoral Students
UTA Bioengineering Receives NIH Grant

Kytai Nguyen, a UTA bioengineering professor with extensive experience in healthcare applications for nanotechnology, recently was awarded a National Institutes of Health T-32 grant totaling more than $1 million over five years to recruit and train outstanding doctoral students. Nanotechnology, including nanomedicine and nanomaterials, is an increasingly important tool in the treatment of many diseases, and the new grant will allow UTA's Bioengineering Department to take the lead in training doctoral students to develop and use those tools to battle cardiovascular and pulmonary ailments. Alumna Earns Exclusive Postdoctoral research position
Alumna as Seaborg Institute Fellow

Sarah Hernandez (PhD, '15) discusses her work in a recent video published by the Seaborg Institute, one of the nation's most respected recruitment programs for actinide scientists and a part of the Los Alamos National Security Education Center. Hernandez is a postdoctoral fellow studying resident ultrasound spectroscopy through density functional theory calculations, helping researchers better understand actinides such as plutonium and uranium. Kinesiology student USes FABLAb to Print a Prosthetic Arm
FabLab Produces Prosthetic Arm

Adam Williams, a senior kinesiology major, took advantage of 3D printing technology at UTA's FabLab, a hands-on creative hub in the Central Library, to custom fit a prosthetic arm for the 8-year-old son of an associate professor. Garrett's case offered students and staff a unique chance to develop skills and unleash creative thinking. WATCH THE VIDEO

Art Student Selected for Esteemed Program
UTA Art Student in Yale Program

Miso Kim, a sophomore studying art with a concentration in painting, will attend the prestigious Norfolk Summer School of Art program. Kim was one of only 26 students selected out of more than 250 international applicants to attend the program hosted by Yale University’s Art Division. READ MORE

Women's Softball | Come out to Allan Saxe Field to catch a softball doubleheader as the Lady Mavs take on the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina. The games begin at 1 and 3 p.m. General admission tickets are $6 while UTA students, faculty, and staff can purchase them for $5. GET YOUR TICKETS

April 28 | Friday

Military Appreciation Night | Join us for Military Appreciation Night at Clay Gould Ballpark as UTA hosts Louisiana-Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. and we honor those who have served our country. Complimentary tickets will be provided for current and former service members when you arrive at the gate.

May 12 | Friday

Alumni and Friends at UTA Baseball | Head out to the ballpark with all your favorite UTA friends and enjoy a night of baseball and Cracker Jacks! It is the last scheduled home game for the 2017 season so come out and root for the home team. Tickets to the picnic hosted by Alumni Relations are now available. GET YOUR TICKETS
