Congratulations Class of 2017!
This weekend's commencement ceremonies mark the beginning of a new chapter for the 2017 graduating class, the largest in UTA history. The 5,600 degrees conferred over the next several days represent a projected 8 percent increase over the 5,168 degrees from Spring 2016. As these new graduates start their professional careers, we welcome them to the alumni family and extend a heartfelt congratulations for successfully earning a college degree! National Recognition for excellence
Ramon Lopez, UTA professor of physics and longtime leader in physics and science education, has been named one of eight Fellows for 2017 by the American Association of Physics Teachers. The criterion for selection of Fellows is exceptional contribution to AAPT's mission – to enhance the understanding and appreciation of physics through teaching. READ MORE

Prestigious Appointment for UTA Police Chief
Kim Lemaux, chief of police for UTA, has been appointed to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement by Gov. Greg Abbott. As a state regulatory agency, the commission’s mission is to establish and enforce standards to ensure that the people of Texas are served by highly trained and ethical law enforcement, corrections, and telecommunications personnel. Both the men's and women's track and field teams contend for a title in this weekend's Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Maverick Stadium. The men are seeking another Triple Crown after winning both the Indoor and Cross Country titles earlier this year. The women enter the meet highly ranked, with 18 athletes listed among the league's top eight in their respective events. GO MAVS!

Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship | The baseball team heads to Statesboro, Georgia, to start its run toward the College World Series. Keep up with the team's progress in this double-elimination tournament and make sure to support all UTA student-athletes by joining the Maverick Club. MAV CLUB

Arlington 4th of July Parade | Since 1965, Arlington has been home to one of the largest 4th of July parades in Texas. The parade route winds through UTA's College Park District and will include UTA-sponsored floats. Gather your family and friends for the 9 a.m. parade and celebrate America, the beautiful!
