PROFESSOR WINS PRESTIGIOUS NSF GRANT
Professor wins NSF Grant

Matthew Walsh, biology assistant professor, received a five-year, $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development Program. Dr. Walsh’s project will address a long-standing question in evolutionary biology. READ MORE

ALUMNI NAMED TECH TITANs FINALISTS
Tech Titans Finalists

Several UTA alumni are finalists for the Tech Titans Awards, which recognize the elite in the Dallas-Fort Worth technology industry. They are Distinguished Alumnus Arun Bhikshesvaran '95 of Ericsson and Michael Boren '05 of Beck Technology, both for the Corporate CTO Award; Bryan Chambers '10 of UT Dallas for the Tech Titans of the Future-University Level Award; and Richard Margolin '10 of RoboKind LLC for the Technology Inventor Award. Additionally, Mark McKinney '76 is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Strategy at Bottle Rocket, a finalist for the Emerging Company Innovation Award. Distinguished Alumnus Jeff Smith ’88, ’04 is Chief Technology Officer at Catapult Health, a finalist for the Technology Adopter Award. READ MORE

The men's and women's teams combined to win 73.1 percent of their games last year, among the top 20 of the 350-plus NCAA Division I programs nationally and second best in Texas. CONCUSSION RESEARCH
Concussion Research

Despite the large volume of Internet information on sports-related brain injuries, many parents of young athletes have a limited understanding about the impact of concussions on their children. That’s the finding of a new study co-authored by Cynthia Trowbridge, kinesiology associate professor and athletic trainer. READ MORE
