Calling all alumni! University Housing needs your help volunteering for the 2017 Move-In. An annual tradition that takes place this year on August 21, Mav Move-In brings together the entire UTA family to support incoming campus residents. VOLUNTEER

Prestigious NSF Grant
Fighting Osteoperosis

Rhonda Prisby, associate professor of kinesiology, received a $250,000 National Science Foundation grant to design a revolutionary device that could stimulate bone growth and ultimately be used to prevent osteoporosis. READ MORE

Maverick Judge
Judge Jackson

Maria T. Jackson ('87) serves as the presiding judge of the 339th State District Court in Houston, Harris County. The Honorable Jackson was first elected in 2008 and was named one of the Top 30 Most Influential Women of Houston.

Recognizing Scholar Athletes
Academics and Athletics

The men's basketball program received a Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches for maintaining a cumulative 3.0 team GPA. READ MORE

Five UTA Faculty Win Regetns Outstanding Teaching Awards

Five UTA faculty members are among University of Texas System educators honored with 2017 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Awards for excellence in the classroom. They are Carla Amaro-Jiménez, Ramón López, Laura Mydlarz, Kathryn Hamilton Warren, and Robert L. Woods. READ MORE
