New CONHI Dean ANnounced
Beth Merwin

Elizabeth Merwin, PhD, RN, FAAN, has been appointed dean of UTA's College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CoNHI). Merwin is currently serving as the Duke University School of Nursing’s executive vice dean and the Ann Henshaw Gardiner Professor of Nursing and as professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University’s School of Medicine. UTA Alumni Relations

UTA inaugurated its new $125 million Science & Engineering Innovation & Research building, a state-of-the-art facility that will contribute to pushing the University forward as a leading health science research and teaching institution, on Friday. Almost $30 million in active research grants move with UTA’s faculty into the new facility, which will focus on interdisciplinary research around major health science challenges, such as brain health, cancer, cardiovascular health, healthy aging and rehabilitative medicine. Festival of ideas
UTA Alumni Relations

The College of Liberal Arts (COLA) hosted the Fall 2018 Festival of Ideas on Thursday. The half-day forum enabled participants from the UTA campus and community to examine the impact immigration has on people, ideas, and actions in the United States. This free, public event is made possible by Mustaque Ahmed’s ('81) Festival of Ideas Global Research Institute endowment. This year's event featured author and activist Loung Ung and UTA alumnus, prominent immigration and labor law attorney Jacob Monty ('91). READ MORE

UTA Day at the Zoo | Join the herd of Mavericks exploring the wonders of the animal kingdom and bring the family to one of the country's best zoos at the first ever UTA Day at the Fort Worth Zoo. Your ticket includes entry into the Zoo, parking, and a catered picnic. Children 2 and younger are free! REGISTER

MSS: Terry Crews | UTA welcomes actor, artist, and activist Terry Crews for the next Maverick Speakers Series on October 16 at 7:30 PM. UTA Day at FC Dallas | Don't miss your chance to tailgate and get on the field at Toyota Stadium with fellow Mavericks as FC Dallas takes on the Seattle Sounders Football Club. Tickets include a pre-game BYOB tailgate featuring Rudy's BBQ. The fun starts at 2:00 PM. GET YOUR TICKETS
