AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT CAMPUS GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

ADVANCING RESEARCH
UTA's New SEIR Building Opens this fall

Academic research is traditionally done in labs scattered across campus, making it difficult for faculty to develop close collaboration. UTA's newest Science & Engineering Innovation & Research building, a 229,000-square-foot modern mix of steel and glass anchoring the south entrance to campus, is overcoming that obstacle to multidisciplinary research by hosting research neighborhoods where faculty with different expertise will work in adjacent labs. This design feature will make it possible to work more efficiently together and expedite research discoveries. The building will host classes as the semester begins and will have an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, September 28. To check on the building's progress, visit the SEIR building website

A NEW LIVING LEARNING COMMUNITY
West Campus Experience

UTA is committed to providing the best possible environment for student success. As part of that commitment, campus administrators, legislative officials, and Arlington representatives are gathering at 11:30 AM on August 30 to celebrate the new West Campus Experience. This new combination of dining and residential options will enhance UTA's robust living and learning communities by adding a more than 500-bed residence hall, multiple eating options including Zatar, Starbucks, and a cafeteria, as well as meeting spaces for faculty and students to congregate and work together. The grand opening for the new collection of buildings will be highlighted as part of Maverick Stampede and will feature self-guided tours of West Hall and food samples from The Commons. You can find more information about the West Campus Experience and its unveiling on the Housing website

THE HEART OF CAMPUS
Brazos Park Rendering

Plans to celebrate the legacy of Brazos Hall are underway as construction crews are clearing space to make the new Brazos Park a reality. Located in the heart of campus, Brazos Park will feature an open-air amphitheater and green space for students to enjoy between classes and during special events. Donors are stepping forward to make the park a possibility, and the University has established a campaign to raise funds to preserve this piece of campus history. Join us as we reinvent this beloved space and create new memories of Brazos Park for the next generation of Mavericks. Visit the Brazos Park crowdfunding page to be a part of this new space.
