Reconnect with your alma mater and renew acquaintances with former classmates Nov. 4-10 during UTA's Homecoming 2019: More Spirit, All Maverick. Many of the festivities will take place Saturday, Nov. 9, including special alumni group gatherings and the Party on the Plaza. Adult admission to the Party on the Plaza on College Park Center's Northwest Deck is $25 and includes a basketball game ticket, appetizers, one drink coupon (cash bar available), and a $5 gift to support alumni programming. Homecoming 2019 also features a parade and pep rally, street festival, golf tournament, 5K run/walk/roll, and much more. FULL SCHEDULE and REGISTER

HONORING DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AND FRIENDS
2019 DAA Recipients

UTA will recognize seven alumni and friends of the University for their professional and civic achievements, community engagement, and support at the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Awards. This year’s Distinguished Alumni honorees are Shahrzad Amirani (’89, ’93), Jacob Monty (’91), Michael Ray (’76, ’78, ’81), and Wendy Okolo (’10, ’15), the latter of whom will receive the Distinguished Recent Graduate Award. Additionally, state Sen. Kelly Hancock, state Rep. Chris Turner, and Arlington Mayor W. Jeff Williams will receive the Distinguished Community Service Award. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the E.H. Hereford University Center. Tickets and table sponsorships at various levels are available. READ MORE and TICKETS

GAMES TAKE CENTER STAGE
The Big Games

Watch the women’s basketball team take on Chicago State at 2:30 p.m. and the men’s team battle the University of Tulsa at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in College Park Center. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the men’s game. The alumni Homecoming game package is $20 and includes your ticket to both games in the alumni reserved section, free popcorn, and a $5 contribution to support alumni programming. The week also features men’s basketball vs. UT Dallas, volleyball vs. Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock, and the Jim Hayes Invitational Homecoming Tournament hosted by the Movin’ Mavs and Lady Movin’ Mavs wheelchair basketball teams. MUMENTOUS | This Arlington Museum of Art exhibition showcases Texas’ biggest and boldest homecoming tradition: the mum. During UTA Homecoming week, admission for alumni, students, faculty, and staff is only $5 if you wear UTA apparel or a homecoming mum or garter. MORE INFO

November 9 | Saturday

Homecoming Golf Tournament | Enjoy breakfast, lunch, prizes, and 18 holes of golf at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth. The four-person scramble begins at 8:30 a.m., and the deadline to register is Friday, Nov. 1. SIGN UP

November 6 | Wednesday

Homecoming Chili Cook-Off | Alumni groups are invited to participate in the annual Chili Cook-Off noon-1:30 p.m. at Brazos Park. Prizes will be awarded for champion, runner-up, and best booth. Team check-in opens at 10:15 a.m. REGISTER

November 9 | Saturday

Homecoming 5K Run/Walk/Roll | The annual 5K begins at 10 a.m. at the Maverick Activities Center and takes a scenic route through campus. All proceeds benefit the UTA Emergency Assistance Fund. Open to all alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members. REGISTER
