TRANSFORMATIONAL GIFT
Transformational Gift

To help meet the growing demand for care of older adults, the Deerbrook Charitable Trust has made a $4.7 million gift to the College of Nursing and Health Innovation to further develop the college’s adult gerontology nursing programs. The transformational gift will fund scholarships, create an endowed faculty position, and strengthen the number of gerontology-focused nursing professionals. READ MORE

TOP RANKED IN NORTH TEXAS
Top Ranked in North Texas

In its 2019 list of the nation’s top universities, Washington Monthly magazine ranked UTA as the top national university in North Texas. The methodology accounts for contributions to the public good in the three broad categories of social mobility, research, and public service. The rankings also placed UTA first in Texas and 23rd nationally for the performance of first-generation students.

FACULTY EXCELLENCE
Faculty Excellence

UTA welcomed more than 70 new faculty members to campus for the start of the 2019-20 academic year. The new teachers, scientists, and researchers are spread across eight degree-granting colleges and schools and include three National Academy members and eight recipients of University of Texas System Faculty Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs) Program funding. LIFETIME AWARD
Lifetime Award - Florence Haseltine

Florence Haseltine, presidential distinguished professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, was selected to receive the PCOS Challenge Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association. Dr. Haseltine is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. READ MORE
