40 Under 40 - Jonathan Cranz, Christopher Katri, David Rettig

Two UTA alumni and one current student have been named to Fort Worth Business Press’ annual “Forty Under Forty” list. Jonathan Cranz ’07, partner at Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP; Christopher Katri ’07, senior vice president and senior credit officer at Southside Bank; and current UTA Executive MBA student David Rettig, mayor of Northlake, Texas, and director of accounting services at Fidelity Investments, are among those who will be celebrated March 31 at the Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth. COMMUNICATION DESIGN
Communication Design

The Visual Communication Design program at UTA was ranked No. 44 for graphic design by Animation Career Review, an online resource for aspiring animators, game designers, graphic designers, and digital artists. More than 700 schools with programs from across the U.S. were evaluated on their academic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program, and value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness. Other recent honors for the UTA Art and Art History Department include a Guggenheim fellowship, two Joan Mitchell Awards, and two Moss-Chumley Awards. READ MORE

BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH
Biomedical Research

Marco Brotto, professor of nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at UTA, is part of a group of researchers dedicated to the study of the musculoskeletal system (MSK)—the largest system in the human body that provides nutrition and stimulation. He said his passion for understanding the mechanics of MSK began more than three decades ago when he embarked on a clinical research career in Brazil as a nurse practitioner. READ MORE

WHEELTRIP APP
Wheeltrip App

A team of engineering and social work students from UTA is designing a new app, named WheelTrip, that would allow older, wheelchair-bound travelers to schedule someone to meet them at the airport curb with a wheelchair, escort them through the building, and drop them off at their terminal. UTA at Six Flags
