A LOOK AT WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON

TEXAS TIER ONE
Texas Tier One

By hitting critical benchmarks, UTA is achieving all of the required criteria to receive Texas Tier One designation and funding from the state’s National Research University Fund (NRUF) and would become just the fourth university in the state to do so. The 81st Texas Legislature created the Texas Tier One designation through the establishment of NRUF, which provides a dedicated, independent, equitable source of funding to enable emerging research universities in Texas to achieve national prominence as major research universities. North Texas Giving Tuesday - Now - Save The Date: May 5

Communities Foundation of Texas, United Way, and the Dallas Cowboys have teamed up to present North Texas Giving Tuesday Now on Tuesday, May 5. This one-day event is an urgent response to the financial impacts of COVID-19 on our communities. We hope you will join us May 5 to support UTA students through gifts to the Emergency Assistance Fund and General Scholarships Fund. Your generosity will help Mavericks continue their UTA journeys. WATCH CONCERT
Streamed Concert - Dan Cavanagh

Dan Cavanagh, professor and chair of the Department of Music, hosted a live jazz piano concert from his living room earlier this week. During the hour-long performance, Cavanagh raised more than $2,500 for UTA students affected by the coronavirus pandemic. WATCH VIDEO

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY
Workout Wednesday

Arlington ISD students still have an opportunity to engage in physical activity thanks to Duff Elementary physical education teacher Matt Bostick ’06. Every Wednesday during the school’s closure, the UTA alumnus posts short workout videos. The exercises are designed for practicing social distancing and can be performed in your living room, driveway, or backyard.
