Homecoming 2014 events move indoors

Forecasts say it may rain on Saturday’s parade, but that’s no reason to stay away. There’s no better way to spend a rainy day!

Most of UT Arlington’s Homecoming 2014 outdoor events move inside College Park Center for an afternoon of fun, food, and friends. Visit booths and vendors at the street festival, now on the concourse. Cheer on the Maverick men’s basketball team at the pep rally in the northwest foyer and during the game against Houston Baptist on Petsche Court.

A couple of events will be rescheduled. Here’s the plan for Saturday’s Homecoming activities.

  • Golf Tournament—Will be rescheduled.
  • Homecoming 5K—8:30 a.m. check-in, 10 a.m. start. If the race is canceled, participants will be notified via the email address they used for registration.
  • Street Festival—4:30 p.m., moved to the concourse, College Park Center.
  • Party on the Plaza—5 p.m., relocated to the Hospitality Suite, College Park Center.
  • Parade—Canceled. Student groups will decorate the concourse of College Park Center.
  • Pep Rally—6:45 p.m., now in the northwest foyer, College Park Center.
  • Men’s Basketball Game—Mavericks vs. Houston Baptist, 7:30 p.m., College Park Center. The coronation of the Homecoming king and queen will take place during halftime.
  • Fireworks—Will be rescheduled during a future event.
