UTA, Botanical Research Institute of Texas partner to spur discoveries, job creations

  UTA-BRIT MOU  

UTA and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) announced they are collaborating to offer expanded research opportunities for graduate level studies. The research jointly conducted by UTA students, faculty, and BRIT scientists could lead to higher crop yields, disease-resistant crop varieties, cheaper food, new biofuels, and an improved understanding of the earth’s plant biodiversity. UTA launches new programs to promote undergraduate research, student success

UTA has developed three new programs that allow students to work in undergraduate research, including one that enables students to use their federal work-study hours. The new programs are the Undergraduate Research Assistant Program, the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, and the Summer Research Academy of the UT System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. Nominate outstanding student employee

Nominate your outstanding student employee for the Student Employee of the Year Award. The undergraduate and graduate student winners each will receive $1,000 in financial awards and will be entered to win a $10,000 scholarship. Second place receives $500, and all nominees will be honored. Submit nominations by Friday, Feb. 17. Late nominations will not be accepted.

Almost 200 alumni, family members, and friends came together for UTA Day at the Rodeo. After lunch at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the group enjoyed the rodeo at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Read more on President Vistasp Karbhari's blog Mav Milestones.
