Maverick Advantage, QEP new additions to Maverick lingo; attend information session Wednesday

Signs, posters, and banners are going up around campus featuring the Maverick Advantage, UTA's quality enhancement plan, or QEP, to help prepare students for success after college. The QEP will enable students to identify and participate in five opportunities that enhance their career preparedness, dedication to lifelong learning, and appreciation of a diverse and inclusive community.

Attend one of two sessions about the QEP at 9:15-10:45 a.m. and 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in Room 100 of Nedderman Hall. Interim Provost Ron Elsenbaumer and Loraine Phillips, assistant vice provost for institutional effectiveness, will discuss the QEP and the upcoming Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges' visit to campus. Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students

ACES showcases student research Wednesday

See the best of student research and creative works at the Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students, or ACES, a day-long symposium. Undergraduate and graduate students in all disciplines provide oral and poster presentations showcasing their research Wednesday, March 22, at the E.H. Hereford University Center.

Candidate forum for provost today, Wednesday

Candidates for provost and vice president for academic affairs will have sessions open to the University community at 4 p.m. today, Monday, March 20, in Room 254 of the Business Building and 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in Room 252 of the Business Building. Each candidate will speak and then answer questions.

Today's candidate is Joseph Hughes, director of the A.J. Drexel Institute for Energy and Environment and Dean Emeritus of the College of Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia. A feedback survey is available until 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 21.

Wednesday's candidate's name will be released 24 hours in advance of his or her campus visit.
