UTA announces new position, appointment of executive director for veterans services

After an extensive nationwide search, UTA has hired James Kumm, combat veteran and seasoned higher education administrator, for the new position of executive director for veterans services. He will provide leadership and coordination for all veterans programs on campus and serve as a resource for student veterans, faculty, and staff. He begins his duties Monday, May 22. LEARN MORE.

Cheer law enforcement at Special Olympics torch run

Join the campus community to salute our UTA Police Officers and their law enforcement and public safety colleagues from across Texas during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics Texas' Summer Games at Maverick Stadium. Come out to Greek Row Drive and join UTA employees curbside in cheering on the police car parade and flag-bearing officers during the last leg of the torch run at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 26. Bring your UTA pompoms and pennants, or arrive early and pick up your Maverick-themed merchandise and banners by the Physical Education Building.

The run ends in Maverick Stadium, where 2,910 athletes, 634 coaches, famlies, and friends will open the games for a weekend of competition.

Flexible Summer Hours Program begins June 5

  4-day work week  

UTA again will offer the Flexible Summer Hours Program Monday, June 5-Friday, Aug. 11. Participating employees work a compressed week of four 10-hour days with one day off during the work week. Managers must give written approval before employees can begin the program. Schedules for non-exempt employees also must include a minimum 30-minute lunch break. Questions? Artists bring wares to international folk art market June 16-17

See the talents of artists from around the globe at the inaugural Santa Fe International Folk Art Market at Arlington Friday-Saturday, June 16-17, at The Green at College Park on the east side of the UTA campus. The event is the first satellite site for the renowned International Folk Art Market | Santa Fe, rated the Best Art Festival in America by USA Today. LEARN MORE.
