New sidewalk coming to UTA Boulevard

Pedestrians should be prepared for sidewalk construction along UTA Boulevard starting Monday, Dec. 4. The first phase of the 6-foot-wide pavement is on the south side of the street between West Nedderman Drive and Cooper Street. Walkers can use parking lot 34 to reach Cooper.

The second phase begins Tuesday, Dec. 12, between West Nedderman Drive and Kerby Street.


Flea-borne typhus cases reported in Tarrant County

Take precautions against flea-borne typhus cases, which are on the rise in Tarrant County. Twenty-two cases have been reported this year, according to the Tarrant County Public Health office. Flea-borne typhus, also known as murine typhus, is a bacterial infection treated with specific antibiotics. LEARN MORE.


Donate toys, clothing to holiday drive for children

Student Affairs is collecting items for a holiday donation drive benefiting Alliance for Children. Items needed include toys, arts and crafts, dolls, action figures, books, clothing, shoes, toiletries, and gift cards for teenagers. Donations are due by Thursday, Dec. 7. Bring items to:

  • Student Affairs office, 180H, University Center
  • Main info desk, lower level, University Center
  • Front desk, Maverick Activities Center
  • Apartment & Residence Life office, Room 100, Arlington Hall
