A new front door for University Center

UT Arlington unveiled the latest update to campus, a newly renovated entrance to the E.H. Hereford University Center. The enhancements provide a more welcoming entrance for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests who visit.

Schedule your flu shot on campus next week

Flu shots will be available for faculty and staff 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, upstairs at the Maverick Activities Center, and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Room 200 of the Wetsel Service Center.

Register for an appointment.

The vaccine is free with many PPO insurance plans and Medicare. The cost without insurance is $20, payable by cash or check. Read more details.

Diversity Listening  Session

Diversity VP search needs your input

Give your input to the committee searching for the inaugural vice president for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. A listening session is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, on Teams.

Read information from search consultants Korn Ferry for the listening session.

The Teams session can accommodate 300 people, so entry is first-come, first-served. If you are unable to attend or connect, email your feedback from the Korn Ferry information to stacie.maness@uta.edu by 5 p.m. Oct. 9.

Register to vote by Monday

The deadline for voter registration is Monday, Oct. 5. Fill out a voter registration application online, print it, sign it, and mail it to the voter registrar in your county of residence.

National Night/Day Out

The UTA Police Department hosts National Day Out, a COVID-friendly version of National Night Out, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, on the University Center mall. Grab a goodie bag with crime prevention info.

You can help via SECC

Help UTA reach our goal of $30,000 for the State Employee Charitable Campaign. The campus is one-third of the way there. Donate by Thursday, Oct. 15.

Early voting

The Maverick Activities Center will serve as an early voting polling place for the Nov. 3 elections. The poll will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13-Friday, Oct. 30.

Food Pantry needs

The UTA/Tri-C Food Pantry needs canned vegetables (carrots, corn, green beans, peas, etc.), ketchup, and laundry detergent. To donate, call 817-933-6520.

Fall into Fitness with Walktober

Walktober steps up for fall fitness

Enjoy autumn's cooler weather and participate in Walktober, the UT System's fall fitness campaign. Sign up by Friday, Oct. 9.

Sync your favorite fitness tracking device or use the Step Converter tool to track various types of exercise. Take the daily quiz and enjoy recipes, articles, an interactive message board, motivating daily emails, and more help keep you moving.

Police update

UTA Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance with identifying a suspect, shown in the pictures above and below, involved with at least one of the recent catalytic converter thefts on campus. The suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Captiva bearing temporary plates.

If you see this vehicle or suspect on campus, call UTA Police immediately at 817-272-3003.

If you have information on the identity of the suspect, contact Detective Rogatski at 817-272-0495.
