UTA major attraction at Main St. Arts Festival

UTA expands its presence at this year's Main St. Arts Festival with more information, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences. The fair is Thursday-Sunday, April 20-23, along Main Street in downtown Fort Worth. Attendance is free.

The only four-year university at the festival, UTA will have exciting presentations at the exhibit tent at Fourth and Main streets. Watch 3-D printing on Thursday or robotics demonstrations Friday. Play “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” on Saturday and participate in health screenings and science experiments Sunday. Listen to performances by UTA jazz bands Saturday and Sunday. LEARN MORE.

Still time to vote in campus elections

Cast your vote in the campus elections 9 a.m.-6 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 18, in the University Center Gallery. Bring your student ID. Available positions include student body president, vice president, and senators; Mr. and Ms. UTA; UTA Ambassadors; and Student Service Allocation Committee representatives.


Decorate your grad cap for chance to win Maverick prize pack

Send photos of your decorated graduation cap for a chance to win one of three prize packs sponsored by the UTA Bookstore. All photos must be submitted to socialmedia@uta.edu by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. UTA community members will vote for their favorite cap on the UTA Facebook page Thursday-Saturday, May 11-13. Pharmacy hours change at Health Center

Through Friday, May 5, the Health Services Center pharmacy will be open 1:30-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Health Services encourages students to plan accordingly when scheduling time to pick up prescriptions.

It’s time to help fellow Mavs and accept the Maverick Gift Challenge. For the cost of a latte, you can support the Student Emergency Assistance Fund or student scholarships. Host an info table at orientation involvement fair

University departments and registered student organizations are encouraged to host information tables at the New Maverick Orientation Information Fairs. These sessions are an opportunity to share information about your programs and services with incoming students. Tables are limited, so you must register in advance. The next fair is Friday, April 21.


Take detours to avoid downtown street closures

Expect detours caused by street closures related to the construction in downtown Arlington. Closures are:

  • Mesquite Street from Border to Front streets 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 19
  • Abram Street from Center to Mesquite streets 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday April 20
  • Abram Street from Center to Mesquite streets April 24-May 22
  • The existing road closures on Main and Pecan streets will continue
