Enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving tradition today

A new Maverick tradition, UTA's Thanksgiving dinner is a chance to share fellowship and gratitude. The meal is 5-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov 21, at the Connection Café in the University Center. The meal is free for students with a meal plan. Tickets are required for others: $5 for students without a meal plan and $8 for faculty, staff, and friends. LEARN MORE.


University closed for Thanksgiving holiday

Thanksgiving break means no classes or business hours Thursday-Friday, Nov. 23-24, but a few campus spots will have adjusted hours.

  • Dining Services will close the Connection Café from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, until 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. Other dining locations will close early Wednesday and remain closed Thursday-Sunday.
  • The University Center will be closed from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 2 p.m. Sunday.
  • UTA Libraries will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23-Saturday, Nov. 25.
  • Check the Campus Recreation hours for the Maverick Activities Center, swimming pool, and climbing wall.
  • Health Services will be closed Thursday-Sunday.

Commencement tickets available

The second offer for Commencement tickets is available for December graduation candidates. Detailed instructions on how to claim your graduate and guest tickets were sent to your UTA email. Children age 2 and younger do not need tickets.

Visit the Commencement website for details on ticket quantities and availability. If you experience technical difficulty claiming your tickets, contact the Box Office at 817-272-9595.

Commencement ceremonies are Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 14-16, in College Park Center. All ceremonies will be livestreamed through the Commencement website.


Apply for LSAMP summer program

Students can apply for the 2018 UT System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Summer Research Academy. Students selected will work on a faculty-mentored research project at either UTA or one of the other universities in the UT System.
