Maverick Spirit Celebration

Enjoy a month of fun as UT Arlington kicks off spring with the Maverick Spirit Celebration, a different take on Homecoming because of COVID-19.

Watch the Homecoming court video with the crowning of the king and queen.

Hit the pavement or treadmill for Keep Your Distance Virtual 5K. Run, jog, walk, or stroll up to 5k (3.1 miles) by Sunday, March 7, and submit your time to receive a snazzy event T-shirt.

Show your love using the hashtag #MaverickSpirit on social media for a chance to win prizes all semester.

Say "Blaze" at the rotating UTA Spirit photo displays throughout the semester. Take your own photo or use the HALO photo booth and share on social media starting March 8-12.

Standardized test options

UTA will continue to incorporate “test score optional” admission and scholarship provisions for students applying to the University through summer 2023.

DeBerry NCAA bound

Maverick high jumper Bryson DeBerry has qualified for the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships next week.

Campus elections

Throw your hat in the ring for campus elections. Open positions are for student body president, student body vice president, Mr. UTA, Ms. UTA, UTA ambassadors, and student senators.

Workforce support

Join a webinar on how Texas Workforce Solutions can support students with disabilities to meet their college and vocational goals to prepare for the workforce. Sessions are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, March 8.

Nominate an advisor

Has your advisor made a significant impact on your experience at UT Arlington? Submit a nomination for them as an Outstanding Academic Advisor by Tuesday, March 9.

COVID-19 testing expanded

UTA Health Services continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for students. Students can schedule appointments at mavcare.uta.edu.

Curative administers free COVID-19 tests for UTA students 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. UTA’s Curative Testing Center is located at 435 Spaniolo Drive in the College Park District.

Appointments are encouraged but not required. They can be made through UTA’s portal on Curative’s website. Read more about the testing.

SEIR electrical outage Sunday

A planned electrical outage for the SEIR building is set for 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, March 7.

The building’s emergency generator will be operational for fire and life safety equipment, limited building lighting, elevators, and any research equipment currently connected to the emergency generator.

Please safe work/data before the outage.

Turn off electronic equiment including computers, scanners, and copiers. They do not need to be unplugged.
