Mr. Barrett began his engineering career with the R&D Staff for Texas Instruments Government Products group, where he worked on Modeling and Simulation, System Performance Analysis, Speech and Signal Processing. His speech and signal processing developments led to his becoming processor development manager for TI’s Consumer Products unit that was responsible for single IC programmable calculator innovations, laptop computers and the famous Speak & SpellTM educational toy. He later became software engineering manager for TI’s Electro-Optical Systems.

Mr. Barrett joined Raytheon, North Texas as director of software engineering, where he achieved the industry’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 performance for software. He was promoted to software manager for Ground Sensor Integration for the U.S. Army’s next generation combat systems before assuming his current position.
