Alicia Davis began her GM career in 1994 as a Manufacturing Engineer at the Midsize/Luxury Car Division in Warren, Michigan. In 1997, she was promoted to Senior Manufacturing Engineer in the division. In 1998, she transferred to GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck Plant, where she held several positions of increasing responsibility. In 2002, she was promoted to General Assembly Area Manager at the facility. Ms. Davis moved on to become Area Manager of the Paint Shop at the Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in 2004, then Area Manager of the plant’s Body Shop in 2005. She was promoted to Assistant Plant Manager in 2006.

In October 2007, Ms. Davis was named manager of GM’s Arlington Assembly Plant. She is the first African-American woman to be appointed to plant manager at a GM vehicle manufacturing plant. Ms. Davis is responsible for providing plant leadership to assure business objectives are met or exceeded in all safety, personnel, quality, responsiveness and cost initiatives.

Ms. Davis is very active in the community from mentoring to volunteering at events and is a member of the board of directors for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
