1970s

William T. Springer (’74, BS ME; ’79, MS ME; ’82, PhD ME), an associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Arkansas, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

 

1980s
Rita M. D'Arcangelis (’89, PhD CS), formerly an associate professor of computer science at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, has retired to Long Beach, Mississippi.

Robert W. Morris (’86, MS CSE) has joined the New York office of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP as a partner in its 50-attorney Intellectual Property Department. Morris has been trial counsel in numerous patent, trade secret and other commercial litigations relating to semiconductor processing technology, high-technology electronics, computer systems and software, and other technologies.

 

1990s
Craig Henry (’96, BS ME) is the Manager/Principal Engineer - Large Project Leader for the development of Acura’s 3.4L LM-V8 - LMP2 racing engine in Santa Clarita, California. Craig was formerly the Senior Engine Development Engineer for Honda’s IRL racing engine.

Amir Javidinejad (’99, PhD ME) published his textbook, “Essentials of Mechanical Stress Analysis.” He owns an engineering consulting firm in Newport Beach, California.

 

2000s
Prasanna Ballal (’08, PhD EE) is a Controls and Applications engineer with Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville, Illinois.

Sara McCaslin (’08, PhD ME) is an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Raj Kurusamy (’04 PhD AE) is a subsea/deepwater technology senior project engineer for Fluor Offshore Solutions in Sugar Land, Texas.

Ken McKinney (’05, MSAE) was featured in a profile in the October 23 issue of Machine Design magazine. Tim is a systems engineer with Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works facility in Palmdale, California and is a volunteer advisor in the Project Lead the Way program for high school students.

Bert Peterson (’02, PhD CSE), a researcher in the Center for Cyberspace Research at the Air Force Institute of Technology, received an Outstanding Scientist, Civilian Category award at the 2008 Air Force Science, Technology and Engineering Awards presentation. A team he is leading developed data mining and social networking techniques to spot and stop insider security threats and industrial espionage. The technology sniffs out insider threats by analyzing e-mail activity to find employees with latent interests in sensitive topics.  

Vikram Rao (’08, MS BME) is an image processing engineer with Neuro Behavioral Research in Oahu, Hawaii.

Sandya Basavanahalli Sheshadri (’05, MSEE), an engineer with Microsoft, has transferred from Redmond, Washington to Washington, DC, where she will be processing and electronically analyzing different types of medical data for a health solution system tltled Amalga.

Aniket Wadajkar (’08, MS BME) is a research associate/scientist in cell culture and protein chemistry at Antibody Research Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri.

Tom Witherspoon (’06, PhD CE) has written a textbook – Infrastructure: Evaluation, Maintenance and Repair –addressing five major areas of concern: highways, bridges, airports, buildings and parking garages. The book is being published by ADSC, the International Association of Foundation Drilling.
