Engineering Counseling & Advising Center

The College of Engineering's Counseling & Advising Center provides a diverse mix of services to entering and current students. The friendly staff assists all students in achieving continuing academic success.

Counselors and advisors are available for:

  • Drop-in and scheduled appointments regarding any academic question
  • Help with selecting a major or minor
  • Learning skills coaching, workshops and classes

Counselors in the Center help students secure university services such as:

  • Individual and group tutoring
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Financial assistance
  • Disability accommodation
  • Personal counseling
  • Job-hunting skills

Students may receive assistance in establishing coursework that best fits their skills and interests and examine current scholarships that are available and applicable. When necessary, advisors may also help students deal with academic probation and chart a course for improvement.

The Counseling & Advising Center also provides private areas for tutoring, graduate distance education information, cooperative education opportunities and information on Fundamentals of Engineering review seminars and professional engineer licensure for the State of Texas.

The Counseling & Advising Center is located in room 242 of Nedderman Hall.
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 7 pm; Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

The Engineering Counseling and Advising Office is offering access to an engineering career website, known as Pathevo.  The website offers several services including university information, more detailed information about specific careers in engineering and companies in the field.
