Dr. Alfred DiStefano, M.D.
Arlington Cancer Center
A founder of the Arlington Cancer Center, Dr. DiStefano is a nationally recognized hematologist/oncologist. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Committed to finding a cure for cancer, he is a Co-founder ofthe Cancer Research Foundation of North Texas, a non-profit organization dedicated to medical research and education for cancer related diseases. He received the organization's Torch of Hope in 2000.
Dr. DiStefano earned his bachelor of science degree from Fordham University and his M.D. from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, then completed a hematology fellowship at the V.A. Hospital in Buffalo and an oncology fellowship at M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston. He is a member of multipleprofessional organizations and recently joined the UTA College of Engineering's Board of Advisors.
