Ron Lemons is a Senior Vice President and a Principal of FNI. He formerly served as Chief Operating Officer and currently assists on dam and water supply issues and initiatives. Mr. Lemons understands clients' needs and has spent his entire career working on large, complex projects requiring extensive coordination among all stakeholders. Most of Mr. Lemons' engineering experience is in the planning, design and construction administration of major water supply facilities. He specializes in the design of water retaining/storage structures such as reservoirs, dams, levees and canals. Mr. Lemons also has considerable experience in the rehabilitation of concrete and earthen dams. He has provided senior leadership to a wide range of Freese and Nichols' projects, mentoring both experienced and younger engineers to encourage outstanding client service and top quality workmanship. He frequently teaches classes in project management, leadership and ethics. Mr. Lemons is also heavily involved in several professional societies in his field for which he currently holds and has held significant leadership positions. Most recently, he chaired the Committee on Global Climate Change and Dams, Reservoirs and the Associated Water Resources for the International Commission on Large Dams. Mr. Lemons was selected for this position based on his unique perspective about climate change and ability to delineate the status of what the scientific, environmental and engineering communities know now, what needs further study and how other groups are addressing anticipated changes.
