Cooperative Engineering Education
UTA College Work Experience Program
Lockheed Martin Missles and Fire Control
Eligible students are College of Engineering juniors, seniors
and graduate students who have at least two semesters of school remaining
before graduation. Minimum GPA for undergraduate students is 3.0. Minimum
GPA for graduate students is 3.2. All participants must be U.S. Citizens.
Participation procedure:
1. Complete the application and the Consent to Release Records and return
them to the Co-op Office in Nedderman Hall. Student transcripts will be
reviewed to ensure that minimum qualifications are met.
2. E-mail a resume as a Word document to engcoop@uta.edu for placement
in the work experience program database.
3. Position descriptions will be emailed to students as they are received.
Students will be responsible for responding to e-mails regarding their
interest in having a resume submitted for consideration.
4. Representatives of Lockheed Martin’s contract company, DCR, will
contact students to schedule interviews with LM managers.
5. Managers select candidates to hire and notify DCR.
6. DCR processes candidate paper work, handles drug test and background
investigation, and sets orientation and start date.
7. Students notify Co-op Office of position acceptance using Notice of
College Work Program Participation form.
Student participants:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours for undergraduates,
9 hours for graduates).
- Must commit to working at least two full
semesters at Lockheed Martin.
- May be hired any time during the year.
- Must attend a full-day orientation
on employment start date.
- Must work a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum
of 20 hours per week.
- May, if needed, work a maximum of 40 hours per
week during semester breaks.
- Must complete a weekly activity report
and submit to Lockheed Martin Work Experience Coordinator.
