The College of Engineering provides convenient options for a student to receive engineering courses in the student's home and/or office. Students may pursue graduate degrees or take individual courses. The College of Engineering Center for Distance Education (ECDE) provides course opportunities for graduate students in several engineering disciplines. We currently offer courses in Aerospace, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering.

Streaming Video:
Students may view their courses on the Internet at their convenience. Students must understand that their computers have certain hardware and software in order to view the classes online. Also, they will be on the same schedule as the on-campus students and may be required to come on campus to take the exams during regular class times. Faculty members have office hours for telephone consultations, and much of the usual communications are handled via e-mail.

Exam Policy for Engineering Distance Education Students
Students should make every effort to take exams on-campus during the regularly scheduled time. If this is not possible, exams may be given by a proctor within 24-hours of the regularly scheduled exam. Students will be responsible for identifying a proctor and submitting the required forms, which are available from the DE office. The proctor should be associated with the testing facility of a community college, a library, a university or an industry human resource or training department. If none of these is available, contact the Engineering Distance Education office to make other arrangements. Students are responsible for any fees charged by the testing facility.

On Campus Students
Students enrolled in the on-campus section of a course that is also offered as a Distance Education section will be able to view, at no extra charge, the past two weeks of classes.
