Maverick Award

Pam McBride, Administrative Assistant II in the Computer Science & Engineering Department recognized as one of the University's best at the Outstanding Maverick Awards Dinner.

One of our outstanding staff members was recognized at the 2011-12 Outstanding Maverick Awards Ceremony, held on January 11.  Pam McBride, Administrative Assistant II, was honored for her dedication and service in the Computer Science and Engineering Department and throughout the College of Engineering.  CSE Chair Fillia Makedon wrote in her nomination for Pam:"With positive energy, good humor, and a ready smile, Pam rises above and beyond her job duties.  When requests from students, professors, and other staff members pile up on her desk, she's known to accept the next one in line gracefully."  Dr. Makedon describes Pam as a crucial member of her team, as someone who is always willing to listen to ideas that would benefit the department, and as someone who embraces diversity.  In addition to her work duties, she also has a keen sense of community spirit.  She readily volunteers for many College of Engineering outreach activities, and in her spare time, knits caps for premature babies and helmet liners for our military.  Dean Jean-Pierre Bardet was honored to be seated at Pam's table at the ceremony.  As dean, he was very proud the the College of Engineering had such an outstanding staff member recognized by the president at this event.
