Thursday, July 5, 2012
Frank Lewis, a professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, has been chosen to receive the 2013 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Neural Networks Pioneer award.
The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Neural Networks Pioneer award recognizes significant contributions to early concepts and sustained developments in the field of neural networks. This award recognizes two types of pioneering contributions: Fundamental understanding and engineering application. The prize includes a plaque and an honorarium, plus travel support for each recipient and one companion to attend the award presentation.
“This is indeed an honor beyond my expectations. It is humbling and makes me want to work harder on all fronts,” Lewis said.
