Monday, August 12, 2013
The University of Texas at Arlington and Fort Worth have been chosen to host the 2017 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, an event that will bring about 3,000 attendees from all over the world to Tarrant County. An announcement about future conference sites was made at the 2013 conference in Melbourne, Australia.
UT Arlington and the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau teamed up to successfully pitch Fort Worth as a conference site.
The Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, which hosts the annual international symposium, is one of 38 technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The electrical engineering department in UT Arlington’s College of Engineering will take the lead in organizing the 2017 event.
