Samir Iqbal, assistant professor of electrical engineering, is co-chair of the Second Conference on Nanotechnology for Biological and Biomedical Applications.
Dr. Iqbal co-founded the conference with funds from the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP); United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization; and International Atomic Energy Agency. The conference is Oct. 14-18 at the ICTP in Trieste, Italy.
"This conference is my vision of the future," Iqbal says. "Along with sharing information on nano-bio-related topics such as sensors, implants, and drug delivery, the conference offers hands-on training on equipment, methods, and software tools to scholars, scientists, and students from developing countries."
