Tracy Oguni, a senior software engineering student in UTA’s Computer Science and Engineering Department, recently finished third in the Pearson Student Coding Contest with her Android app, “Study Buddy.”

Tracy Oguni poses with her check for third place in the Pearson Coding ContestThe app helps students with the common problem of managing and scheduling assignments and study time.

“It was interesting and challenging. I learned things I hadn't been taught in class and a lot of my classes came handy in planning and producing the app,” Oguni said.

Oguni's third-place finish in the Pearson contest comes on the heels of a UTA team's first-place finish last fall in the AT&T Coding Challenge.
