Three Countries Added to Hall of Banners
Monday, April 7, 2014
The banners of three countries, representing students from Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Togo, were the latest to be added to the rafters of the Nedderman Hall Atrium.
The two-story atrium features banners representing the nations of all students who have pursued engineering degrees at UT Arlington. They are an interesting lesson in history as well, because the countries on the banners reflect the name of the country when the student attended UTA, and many have changed since that time.
Elena Ogorodnikova of Kyrgyzstan met Dean Behbehani to proudly pose with her country's banner before it was installed.
Banners of more than 130 countries hang in the atrium, showing the rich diversity of the students and alumni of the College of Engineering throughout its more than 50 years of existence.
